Thriller

When I was a little girl my parents had an old 8 track player and a ton of tapes in the basement. I never paid much attention to most of them because I had one or two favorites. The one I kept coming back to over and over again was Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. I can [...]

The Rain

I am guilty
of listening to the rain
and dreaming of cafes
and movies theaters;
Saturday night dates
of Italian food by candlelight,

and snuggling on warm couches…
but when I turn around

Ripples

In the Darkness

Slipping through the shadows of trees
under the moonlight
with vigilant eyes,
Pausing to listen -
Only silence and stillness
and the occasional echoes
of the night birds’
fluttering wings…
I plot my course carefully,
doubting my every move
plunging through the darkness
that curses me,
invites me to fall prey
to its web of deceptions,
ensnaring me with false hopes….
The silence is still there
running through the vast terrain
like [...]

Stephen King admits his stories often start as ‘what if’ moments. ‘What if people were trapped in a car by a rabid dog?’ ‘What if vampires took over a small town?’
While listening to a song the other day, I was struck by a ‘what if’ moment of my own. The concept is interesting, though I’m [...]
